Article 1
Police officers who have made outstanding contributions or exceptional achievements in work performance shall be awarded the Police Medal in accordance with this Act.
Article 2
Police officers who meet any of the following conditions shall be eligible to be awarded the Police Medal by the Ministry of the Interior:
1. Making outstanding achievements in police work, including organization, system improvements, and education.
2. Making a significant contribution to academic research in policing.
3. Preventing or suppressing riots or other serious incidents.
4. Reporting or apprehending criminals who endanger national security, such as internal rebellion or external aggression or commit other serious crimes.
5. Safeguarding people’s lives or property by apprehending criminals sentenced to imprisonment of seven years or more, or those who have been involved in major or high-profile crimes.
6. Apprehending fugitives or escaped criminal defendants who have been sentenced to imprisonment of five years or more.
7. Seizing military or lethal weapons or other hazardous articles that are being carried or concealed and pose a severe threat.
8. Making a significant achievement in confiscating contraband articles.
9. Making a significant achievement by leading in a major disaster rescue operation without regard for personal risk.
10. Demonstrating ultimate dedication and sacrifice in the line of duty.
11. Having worked continuously for more than 10 years with excellent performance.

Article 3
Police Medals are divided into four classes, each with three levels. Advancement in each class is from the third level upward based on accumulated merit. The level within each class shall be advanced by accumulating merits, with the top level being First Class, Level One.
Article 4
Police Medals of the first to third class may be awarded for achievements falling under Article 2, Subparagraphs 1 to 10, depending on merit, but the same achievement cannot receive multiple medals.
For achievements falling under Article 2, Subparagraph 11, the First Class medal is awarded to Police Generals, Second Class to Police Superintendents, Third Class to Police Sergeants, and Fourth Class to equivalent rank to Police Sergeants.
For achievements falling under Article 2, Subparagraph 11, the First Class medal is awarded to Police Generals, Second Class to Police Superintendents, Third Class to Police Sergeants, and Fourth Class to equivalent rank to Police Sergeants.
Article 5
The Police Medal and its certificate are approved and awarded by the Ministry of the Interior, which is also responsible for recording and managing the process.
If a Police Medal is lost, it may be reissued under application through the relevant police department.

Article 6
The Police Medal may be worn at important national celebrations and assemblies. Those wearing the Police Medal shall be neatly dressed. When wearing it along with a Medal of Honor, the Police Medal shall be worn in a lower position.
Article 7
Recipients of the Police Medal who are deprived of public rights by a final criminal judgment must return the medal and certificate.
Article 8
The design of the Police Medal and certificate shall be determined by the Ministry of the Interior.
Article 9
This provisions of this Act regarding the award of the Police Medal shall apply Mutatis Mutandis to general administrative staff, technical personnel, and educational staff as defined in the Organization Act of the police departments or the police academy.
Article 10
The Enforcement Rules of this Act shall be issued by the Ministry of the Interior.
Article 11
The effective date of this Act coming into force shall be determined by the Executive Yuan.
